July is one of my favourite months of the year.
The days feel longer, the evenings feel softer and there always seems to be a little more time to enjoy life's simple pleasures. Whilst it's easy to get caught up in busy schedules, July is the perfect reminder to slow down and make the most of the season.
For me, creating cosy moments isn't just something we do through fragrance. It's about finding joy in the little things, whether that's reading a great book in the garden, trying a new summer recipe or taking ten minutes to enjoy your favourite scent with a cold drink in hand.
So I thought I'd share a few of the ways I'll be making the most of July this year.
Create Your Own Summer Reading Corner
There is something wonderfully relaxing about sitting outside with a good book and your favourite fragrance filling the air.
A few books currently on my summer reading list include:
π The Midnight Library by Matt Haig
π The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid
π The Housemaid by Freida McFadden
π The Summer Book by Tove Jansson
π Remarkably Bright Creatures by Shelby Van Pelt
My tip? Pair your reading time with a fragrance that matches the mood of the book and turn it into a ritual you'll look forward to every day.
Bring Summer Into Your Home
You don't need to be on holiday to create that summer feeling.
Try:
πΈ Fresh flowers on the dining table
π A bowl of seasonal fruit displayed in the kitchen
βοΈ Opening windows early in the morning to let fresh air flow through the house
π―οΈ Switching to lighter, brighter fragrances that feel fresh and uplifting
π‘ Spending more time in your favourite outdoor space, however big or small
Often it's the smallest changes that make the biggest difference.
Make Something Seasonal
One of my favourite things about summer is making the most of fresh ingredients.
A few easy July favourites:
π Strawberry & Cream Overnight Oats
π Homemade Lemon Drizzle Cake
π« Summer Berry Eton Mess
π₯ Cucumber & Mint Mocktails
π Fresh Watermelon Salad
The best recipes are often the simplest ones.
