Meet the Team: Tamar
Meet the team: Tamar
Tamar is one half of the duo who created the fabulous Cosy Aromas brand! Tamar used to be a teaching assistant before moving into all things home fragrance and before that, dreamed of being a criminologist!
Take a look at this Q&A of Tamar below.
What did you want to be when you were growing up?
I really wanted to become a criminologist. I love crime programmes – anything to do with homicides or detective-work – I just love it. So much so, my TV automatically records anything to do with crime if it’s on!
I actually studied psychology and sociology at college. It was so interesting and I really enjoyed it but unfortunately I’m not the best at maths so it didn’t work out. Thankfully Paul is great with numbers so I leave that side of the business to him!
Describe your job in three words
Messy, fun and challenging!
What does your average day at Cosy Aromas HQ involve?
My role is pretty mixed but it’s primarily scent-work!
One day I could be creating brand new scents, the next it could be tweaking recipes we already have. Sometimes I work in the other departments such as production or dispatch to help pack up orders if we have a really busy week.
My role involves a lot of computer research for health and safety too. I’m in charge of ensuring all our products are meeting the right regulations.
What's your favourite Cosy Aromas scent?
Oh, this is a hard one. I have three favourites, so I’ll just talk about all three!
Spring Awakening is my ultimate favourite. I also really love our White Musk and Amber – it’s aromatic and so nice. And of course, our Honeydew and Red Raspberry charity candle is a new favourite.
What do you enjoy doing when you’re not at work?
I enjoy reading. I don’t get a lot of time to read usually but when I do, I love to read fiction and fantasy novels. Reading is a real form of escapism for me, I love it.
We’ve just moved house and now that the garden is finished, it’s absolutely perfect for me to sit in the garden with a good book. I also love a barbeque and having friends over – I really enjoying hosting!
What piece of advice would you give your teenage self?
Three words – save your money! And persevere with learning to drive sooner rather than later.
Which three celebrities – dead or alive – would you have to a dinner party?
Tom Hardy for definite! Then it will have to be Freddie Mercury and Meatloaf. I LOVE Meatloaf.
If you could have any super power, what would you choose and why?
Ohhh! I’d like to be able to teleport for sure.
That way I can go anywhere I want and I wouldn’t have to waste time travelling. Think how many deliveries we’d get done if we could teleport - we’d save so much time!
What’s one thing your Cosy Aromas colleagues might not know about you?
I’m quite an open book to be honest and we’re a very tight knit team at Cosy Aromas.
I can’t think of anything they don’t know about me. They even know about my love of mushy peas!
